Definition: The techniques for capturing motion require manipulating shutter speeds and, in some cases, camera motion to intentionally blur selected portions of the image.  It is this selective blurring that allows the image to convey a sense of motion. There are several ways to do this, including panning, zooming, and shutter speed selection.
