Definition: Night photography starts shortly after the sun has gone down and there is still a glow in the skies.  This glow is a great help to separate the shapes of the objects that are being photographed from the dark of the night sky.  When it is truly dark, time exposures can be used to record the movement of traffic or other objects.  The longer the exposure, the more interesting these images can be.  Using a tripod to photograph moving objects such a Ferris wheel can give some spectacular results.  Zooming a lens during a time exposure can also provide some very interesting images.
