The annual Mid-America Photography Symposium (MAPSym) was held in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, May 16-17, 2009.
MAPSym was started by PSA Region 24 Director, John Baltz, and features photographers from around the nation leading workshops and sessions.  The PSA 75th Anniversary Book was
a raffle gift and the PSA DVD "Dirty Little Secrets" was shown during a luncheon session.  PSA Region 6 Director, Carole Kropscot, APSA, drove from Kansas to register new PSA members during the symposium.
PSA Region Director, Eleanore Avery, APSA, became President of the Gulf States Camera Club Council (GSCCC) in April 2009.  Outgoing GSCCC President, John Hill, congratulated Eleanore who had just received the GSCCC First Place Award in the Nature Year End Competition.
Several members of the Oklahoma Camera Club attended the 2007 PSA Conference in Tucson. One evening they celebrated Tom and Carol McCreary's daughter leaving Iraq, and another time they saw former club members Carol and Jim David who moved to Mesa, AZ some years ago. On the way home they stopped at Dead Horse Point, Utah for some good photography.
